Full-time CPA (minimum 5 years experience)

We are looking for an experienced Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our accounting firm.  Responsibilities include preparation of complex tax returns, detailed review of tax returns prepared by team members, gaining the trust of many clients with consistent direct communication with them. Ultimately you will play a vital role in consulting work for our clients, tax planning, and applying current tax laws to data.

Our ideal candidate has in-depth knowledge of tax preparation for Individuals, C Corporations, S Corporations, Partnerships, Trusts and Non-Profits. Must be able to review client books and records and apply accounting principles and procedures. CPA certification is required for this position.

CPA Responsibilities

  • Tax preparation for Individuals, C Corporations, S Corporations, Partnerships, Trusts and Non-Profits
  • Ability to review bookkeeping records, account analysis, prepare adjusting journal entries if necessary
  • Understanding and ability to review annual 1099 reporting for many clients
  • Understanding and review of all aspects of payroll, payroll taxes, and review of filings including annual W-2s
  • Understanding of sales tax reporting
  • Part of a professional team working together for common goals of client satisfaction and personal growth
  • Ability to meet independently with clients to discuss their financial matters, review their returns with them and review recommendations

Other Responsibilities

  • Organize and update financial records
  • Analyze and prepare reports and compiled financial statements for multiple clients
  • Perform regular, detailed reviews of client information and financial documents, put in order and prepare the tax return
  • Prepare Forecasted revenue and expenses and tax projections
  • Oversee ledger reconciliations on multiple accounts
  • Work with clients and track tax payments and returns
  • Monitor bookkeeping activities regularly
  • Keep Client financial information confidential
  • Assist with and/or establish accounting policies and procedures
  • Stay informed on industry developments and changes in regulations

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Certified Public Accountant
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting and financial procedures
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Experience with accounting and tax software, QuickBooks a must, and Lacerte tax software experience helpful
  • Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail
  • Ability to converse intelligently with clients, peers, coworkers
  • Integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or Finance and/or CPA certification
